Nuclear Dissent
During my time as Executive Producer at Jam3, I co-created, EP’d and raised funding for interactive documentary Nuclear Dissent, which delves into the French Government's nuclear testing in the Pacific Ocean during the 1970s.
An international co-production with Rogue Films of New Zealand, Nuclear Dissent narrates the tale through the perspectives of some of the era's most courageous activists and experts, tracing the journey of Greenpeace's founders.
Structured into five captivating chapters, the documentary utilizes WebGL technology to offer a 360° immersive experience, blending intense video and audio narratives to engage the audience fully.
The documentary encourages viewers to delve deeper into the history of nuclear activism, featuring dynamic photo galleries that chronicle the movement's evolution since 1963.
The website's design strikingly juxtaposes the pristine beauty of the Pacific landscapes against the grim aftermath of nuclear testing. The user interface and sound design take inspiration from retro analog interfaces and Geiger counters, enhancing the overall sensory experience.
By making a historical event relevant and evocative to today’s audiences, the documentary also inspires people to take action.
• Nuclear Dissent is divided into 5 chapters
• In total, there are more than 70 archival pictures, 20 3-D objects, 40 audio files, 5 documentary videos and 8 full CGI 360-degree scenes compatible for virtual reality
• The site is also available in WebVR for mobile and is optimized for Google Cardboard
