The Ford Mustang Customizer & Racing Game
Ford and Team Detroit (later Blue Hive) partnered with Jam3 in 2014 to create what was at the time the world’s most innovative 3D car configurator on the market, launched in 2015.
It wasn’t just an app and a responsive website, it was a product we kept alive for 3 years, with hundreds of iterations delivered in an Agile workflow. We worked in close collaboration with Ford’s account management, QA, Creative and Product Marketing team throughout production and in our maintenance period.
Beyond its 20k 3D parts, the Mustang Customizer was also a racing game, a gif maker, and a Google Streetview visualizer with a link to dealers, allowing users to be notified of where they could purchase their custom car(s). Multiple cars could be customized and saved in a user’s very own 360 circular garage, and then raced against other users for achievements and leaderboard status.
